People believe that the law should be the same for every human being. This includes the normal average everyday person such as my self, celebrities such as Britany Spears, or even the President of the United States. What about the mentally ill? Yes every person should be held responsible for their actions, but what if this person who commits a crime is not mentally stable.
Most people who have a mental illness can live the average life just like anyone else can. They can do this by taking medication and support by others. For those people who have no family or friends around to help guide they will have a higher chance of unavoidable actions of committing a crime. Some argue that people should be held accountable for their actions of breaking the law, whether they have a mental illness or not. While others argue that mentally ill people should not face the same consequences for breaking the law as a person without a mental illness because of the main reason " they have a illness."
This article is very logically and effectively supported as well. The author gave a break down of the controversial issue on this subject. They also gave some supporting facts of how many mentally ill people are in the criminal justice system. A fact i came across is that there is a total of 10.1 % of inmates in a state prison who has been reported as having a mental condition. That is a high number. This argument of whether a mentally ill person should be treated the same as a person without a mental illness is very persuasive. It gives opinions and facts on both sides of the debate. Over all this article is a attention grabber.
This article makes me feel upset to a certain extent. It is frustrating to know that people feel that a person with a mental illness should be treated the same as a person who does not have this downfall. A person is not born with wanting to be mentally ill. It is not a choice. Yes i agree that they should be put on medication to help balance their life, but what about those who cant afford medication or those who don't have a support system to help guide them down the right path? Should they be punished because they were born with a defect? This issue can be a highly opinionated argument. I feel as if this issue should be more talked about in the court system.

Submission...Women Have To Turn Over Their Rights.

The two sides of the debate are very controversial. Some people believe men should be able to control their wife's life. Many men believe that when women willingly get married and puts the ring on her finger, that it means they are giving over their rights to the man of the house. Others can debate that women have the same rights than men do. Just because they may lack the physical strength like men, does not make the women a less of a person. They still have a brain. They have feelings and thoughts as well.
The quote used in the image "The husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period." (Pat Robertson) is extremely effective. It shows the thought of many men and how foolish they really are. It explains that there is no other way that women can live, other than being controlled by their loved one. The picture alone is frustrating. It shows that women have no say in their life and their husband has 100% control over every move.
The Husband holds the key to the wife's life.

Child Abuse or Discipline: What Is The Difference?
http://www.parentstoolshop.com/HTML/tips8.htm
Overall the website is a plus. The article was written by Jody Johnston Pawel. She is a licensed social worker and a certified family life educator. Jody discusses the debate of punishment and child abuse.
The article was posted in May of 2008. It is not the most recent article, but it contains useful knowledge from a licensed educator. This article is intended for a parents use. It is used to inform the reader of the difference between abuse and punishment. I personally was not aware of the publisher of this article, but I have learned that she has independently published a parent education book, which leads me to assume she is full of knowledge surronding this topic. You can contact the author by email. A mail address is also present, available for those who may not have email.
This article is full of knowledge and information. Although it does not contain data facts, such as percentages, this would be a good article for research. It gives full detail about both subjects (abuse and punishment). Throughout this article there is no bias present. This article will surely help with my research paper. My personal belief relates to the the main focus on the article, "is is punishment, or is it abuse?"

Discipline Towards Children
Physical discipline towards children is the greater cause to the continuous behavioral issues occuring generation after generation. To decrease the number of violent outbreaks children need to be required to complete a course in school about Violence Prevention.

Lindsay Lohn, Is she next to be voted off?
Lindsay Lohan should be the next victim of the swallowing hole! The reason why I feel as if Lindsay should be removed permanently from the public eye is because she is a horrible role model for children. Turning to the Disney channel, there are many movies that she takes apart in. In all the movies she is portrayed as a normal teenager. They seem to show her off as an innocent person, but in reality, behind the scene, she is far from innocent. She has many issues with drug addiction and alcohol. She has attended rehab a numerous amount of times without success. When young children sees actresses on TV, in their heads they think "I want to be just like them." There are a number of children who are following in Lindsay's footsteps, which is in a bad direction.
If Lindsay where to disappear that will help have one less person in the media that has bad influences on young children. Children will soon realize that following in the foot steps of woman who negatively destroy their lives is not the smartest thing to do. They will see that its not okay to end up in situations as the same as Lindsay. With her continuous abuse of drugs she makes it seem to be okay to use substances in a negative manner, which will affect young children to this day. They will assume that since shes doing it, they should too.
I believe that many stars on the media are affecting the young generations that are growing up. Many stars are seen as drug addicts or sex symbols. Children tend to follow what they see in the media. Not only with movies, but with music also. There are countless songs out there that are demoralizing about many subjects such as drugs, alcohol and sex. The more that the media portrays these bad habits, the more negative affect it will have on children.
** There are many more "role models" in the media that should be removed**

Controverisal Research Topics!
* Women's Rights
I believe to this day a large number of women are still looked down Upton to. The law says women are equal, but are we really? I have seen situations before where women were treated as if they have no rights. Some men believe women have no say in the world and that women Will never be as powerful to face the world head on.
*Social Services (Child)
I feel very strongly against child abuse. Young children who are physically, mentally, sexually, or socially abused are put in horrible situations that no human should be put in. A child being faced with abuse have no way out. They can not protect them selves against harm. I am currently wanting to become a social worker. I feel as if there is not enough people out in the world today that care enough to protect the children of the world today from harm.
*Child Support
I have a strong feeling about child support. Yes i believe child support is needed. Not only from men, but from women as well. It is both the parents responsibility to take care of their child, but there are some situations that i feel as if child support is only used to gain money, not to help the child out but to use the money to the parents benefit.
*Assisted Suicide
Should assisted suicide be legal? or should it be illegal? Is it right to help someone end their life? This topic is interesting to me because there are so many opinions and situations that could affect someones decision whether they think it is right or wrong. Should the person who helped a assisted suicide be held responsible?

Will the Wrong Doings Cost the Gun Company?
Every gun manufacturer has specific rules and regulations to follow in order to allow a customer to purchase a weapon. The widow of Jacob Woods is suing the gun manufacturer claiming that the gun purchased for his murder was not followed by the proper rules. I believe that her lawyer , Wendall Rohr, will succeed and win the case against the manufacturers wrong doings.
Mr. Rohr seems to be a overall good lawyer. He follows the law and refuses to make exceptions. Even with the chance of making "big bucks" he will not go against the law. He requested that the photo that was given to him during court be shredded immediately. We all know that movies have their twists and turns. Mr. Fitch seems to be all about going against the law. He is illegally setting up the jury to attempt to have control over the outcome of the case. I'm curious to see if the outcome of the case will have Mr. Fitch caught in his illegal acts and causing the gun manufacturer to lose the case.We will find out!

My "average" Teenage Life!
Television shows portray what they call the "average life of a teenager." Whether you're a star on your high school football team, the girl who always gossips around school for attention, having physic powers to be able to see in the future, or even having two identities, can we say there is such a thing known as "the average life?" Whether you say there is or not, every person has their own definition of the average teen life. Flipping through the channels going from the USA Network, Lifetime, MTV, to the Disney Channel I have discovered my life to be somewhat similar to the show Life With Derek. The character that could define me well is Casey MacDonald.
Casey MacDonald is a fifteen year old girl who is currently a student in high school. She is extremely dedicated to her school work. She constantly gives 100% and sometimes even more effort in doing her best. She is what people call a "goody two shoe." She gets straight A's on every single report card. She may get good grades, but it is not always easy. She is so set on being perfect that she stresses out to the extreme. I myself, cannot brag about having straight A's, but I am dedicated to my school work as well. I may not spend hours upon hours doing homework or studying but I do take the time to make the quality of my work the best that I can. Throughout my high school years I can say that I only missed one day of school. Sure people may think I am a "goody goody" but in my opinion that is an accomplishment. I may not be the student running to class afraid to be late or grabbing the first seat in the front row, but I give my utmost effort in schooling. I take advantage of the opportunity to gain knowledge.

"If you stop struggling, then you stop life."
Growing up as a child, I had many thoughts and ideas about how life works. I pictured life to be simple and stress-free. I soon found out at the age of eighteen, my beliefs are wrong. I have discovered life to be more difficult than I have imagined. Life is full of stress and many emotions. I have learned " If you stop struggling, then you stop life." Not one person can say they live the same life as another. Each individual is unique and extraordinary.
At such a young age of eighteen, I already experience the stress that every adult struggles with, such as money. Since I got my job at age fifteen, I have been more independant. I have grown up in a family with the belief that you must work for what you want. Nothing will be placed in the palm of my hand. I can say that I have been working hard and I have a car to show for it. Not only did I pay for my car, I also pay my own car insurance, gas, phone bill, and now schooling. I no longer rely on my parents for money. As I get older, as the bills get bigger, I am realizing how difficult life truly is.
People have their own struggles in life. That is what life is about. No one can say life is easy. Life is difficult. There are ups and downs. There is pain and there is happiness. Without the difficulties of life,I would not be where I am now. "If you stop struggling, you stop life."
